The Annual Sports Meet 2010 of the KSO/Kolkata Branch was concluded today with the NC Hills (Red Devils) Team bagging the overall championship Title. Kudos to the President, General Secretary and all the Executive Council members for staging possibly the greatest and the most well organised two days of sporting extravaganza in the history of KSO/K.

While shopping with my two lovely daughters for Christmas this evening at West side, Kolkata, they happened to set their eyes on two sets of toys which I felt were a bit expensive and too indulgent for kids. To avoid any showdown at public place I gave them the best (more often the facts!!) excuse of not having enough money to buy them and also that my Plastic money wasn't working anymore. Our drive back home was really sober and so unlike my family. For once I thought my girls have really come of age and that they are sensible enough to see reasons for not buying the toys. As we reached home, they start collecting their coins and reached out for their Mommy's Piggy Bank for inserting them inside. Taken aback, I inquired the reasons for combining their piggy banks with that of Mom's. They nonchalantly replied in unison -
"
WE ARE NOW SAVING MONEY TOGETHER SO THAT YOU MAY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY THOSE TOYS NEXT TIME"

After watching Barcelona total demolition of Real Madrid and Manchester United thumping victory against the Rovers, my entire body is shivering with joy unabatedly....sometimes all the good things comes in a real package - MAN UTD on top of the Premier League; Barca leads RM by 2 points.
Well the BIG Q now is can I continue the good form with my TEAM NC HILLS @ the KSO/Kolkata Annual Sports Meet 2010 which kicks off early saturday...HAHAHAHAHAHA

A Letter to a deared daughters on Childrens' Day
"And they brought young children to Him, that He should touch them: and His disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them, and blessed them".
Dearest and most darlingest Nadya & Themthem,
My life and world would not have been so beautiful and complete without you. I start my day and ends with you. May the love and laughter remain forever on your beautiful face and be a true witness to your creator and saviour "JESUS" for the rest of your life. JESUS loves you now and forever.

Ms.Kimkhanthem haokip, Miss KUT 2010 |
The third child of Mrs and Mr L.Haokip, Ms Kimkhanthen Haokip hails from the bustling Village of Saparmaina Bazaar under Gamnom Saparmaina Block, Manipur. Educated from a very humble but highly motivated neighborhood school, Ms Khanthem was always poised for bigger achievements even in her kindergarten days. Her keen sense of dress and style was stridently obvious even then. Her confidence and humility is there for all to see. Coincidentally, Kimkhanthen’s maternal aunt Nu. Lhaineikim Haokip was the first ever Miss Kut in the history of Kut Festival.
I genuinely and legitimately believe that Miss Kut is a contest of Beauty with a Purpose for the CHIKIMI and CHIKIMI nationals alone. Hence, for me and majority of my fellow Chikims, the real Miss Kut 2010 was, is and shall be Ms Kimkhanthen Haokip only. Congratulations are due and in order for Lanu. Kimkhanthen Haokip for bagging the most coveted crown of Miss KUT 2010.

1st of November every year is always RED CIRCLED in my most prominently displayed Annual calendar in the house for the basic reason that my most eagerly awaited Chavang Kut Festival falls on that day. In terms of glamour and sheer excitement, the festival of KUT was second to none. I can still vividly recall with a lot of affection and nostalgia my hairdo for KUT 1993 – a.k.a Rahul Roy of Ashiqui fame. It took me a flat five months to have that perfect hairdo for the D-day. The extravaganza and aura of the festival is such that anyone in his/her right frame of mind wouldn’t shudder twice about experimenting with his/her looks just for the day. It’s the day you break free - the day to be yourself.

Rahul Gandhi caught up with 'Magnificent Mary' at the spectators gallery of the Talkatora stadium.Mary Kom said having someone as well-recognised as Gandhi in the stands would enhance the sport''s profile. "He has been here for a long time and has been watching the bouts keenly.Obviously, when people see somebody as popular as Rahul Gandhi in the stands, they would get interested in that sport," she said.
